Top of the line Video Cards

So I've been promising that I'd get some sections in on hardware specific stats...

This week I've got the top video cards.

*All stats courtesy PC World February 2001 Issue, page 124*

There are stats that they all share: 4x AGP, 350MHz RAMDAC, and 32MB Ram (except for the Annihilator 2 Ultra which has 64MB ram).

I could go on and on expounding the virtues and vices of the cards listed, but I'll let the chart do the talking.

Name

Average Price

Annihilator 2 Ultra $499 NVidia Geforce2 Ultra   Y DVD
Annihilator 2 $300 NVidia Geforce2 GTS Y DVD, S-video-in
All-In-Wonder Radeon $299 ATI Radeon Y DVD, TV tuner, S-video-in, S-video-out, DVI-out
ELSA Gladiac GeForce2 GTS $289 NVidia Geforce2 GTS Y DVD, S-video-in, S-video-out
Hercules 3D Prophet II MX $149 NVidia Geforce2 MX N DVD
Voodoo 4500 AGP $149 3dfx VSA-100 N ----------------
Radeon 32MB $129 ATI Radeon N DVD, S-video-out
Asus AGP-V7100 Pure $129 NVidia GeForce2 MX N DVD
CardExpert GeForce2 MX $129 NVidia Geforce2 MX N DVD, and DVI-out
MSI MS-StarForce 816 $119 NVidia Geforce2 MX N DVD

I really hope this helped.... and for your information - the CardExpert GeForce2 MX was given the highest overall performance rating by PC World out of all of those cards.

I've always thought that the GeForce2 MX chip rocked....
