GameSpy has posted a review of Contract J.A.C.K.. Here's a snippet:

"The first big change is that you don't play Cate Archer this time around; now you're filling the shoes of John Jack, killer-for-hire. (The "J.A.C.K." in the title stands for "Just Another Contract Killer.") Set a few months before No One Lives Forever 2, the game starts with Jack about to be ventilated by a rival hit man's goon squad. While making his escape, Jack is contacted by Dmitrij Volkov and the bad guys from H.A.R.M., who have a special job lined up for the resourceful hired gun."

Chrome Review....

Action Trip has posted a review of Chrome. Here's a snippet from their intro to get you started:

"Rich people get richer as they suck on the blood of the poor, who in turn only get poorer, sicker and are left with no medical coverage. Since the dawn of times, those who were on top of the food chain had it better off than the miserable sods that ran around with a huge "I am food" sign stuck on their back. These basic rules apply to everything in life, and that includes the gaming industry. The big boys get all the fun - fast cars, girls and money. They get to release all the AAA titles, while the rest are forced to claw their way to success by picking up bits and crumbs left by the big boys. Things get even harder for the little guys if they come from Poland or any other small European country. Your reputation equals a big round zero, and your budget isn't exactly good enough to ensure a high-profile launch. No Sir, if you're Techland and want to publish Chrome in the states with the help of Strategy First, you better make sure your game is up to par, or you can kiss your American dreams goodbye. So did Techland succeed in their mission improbable? Read on to find out...."

Grand Theft Auto Makers Fight Lawsuit ....

Yahoo! News is reporting the makers of Grand Theft Auto are going to fight the recent lawsuit filed against them. Here's a tidbit:

"The creators of the video game series "Grand Theft Auto" want a federal judge to dismiss a $246 million lawsuit filed by the families of two people shot by teenagers.

Rockstar Games and its New York City-based parent, Take-Two Interactive Software, said the victims' families were trying to hold them liable "based on the expressive content of the video game."

Retailer Wal-Mart and marketer Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc., are also named in the lawsuit."

Hidden and Dangerous 2 Review....
Posted by [Frag-girlie] @ 5:06 PM MST Tuesday, November 11, 2003 [Comment on news]

VideoGamesLife has posted a review of Hidden and Dangerous 2. Here's a nibblet:

"Each new location you visit has an FMV cut scene, and most missions are preceded by an in-game cut scene. However, the best pre-mission item is the briefings: these show a map of the area and clearly label the objectives, told to you by the dulcet tones of a 1940s BBC broadcaster, or someone who sounds like one anyway. The briefings are informative, authentic sounding, and clear without being patronising. The missions themselves are fantastic, with varying objectives that never feel too repetitive (it is possible to occasionally view the missions as “destroy all enemies”, but then that’s what war’s about to be honest. If you want throw down your weapons, go join the conchies – not on our watch, soldier)."

Call of Duty Review....
Posted by [Frag-girlie] @ 5:02 PM MST Tuesday, November 11, 2003 [Comment on news]

Game Guru Mania has posted a review of Call of Duty. Here's a snip from their conclusion:

"Overall, Call of Duty simply rocks. No joke. It's the most atmospheric game I've ever played in this genre, and while the gameplay may not be innovative, it's solidly implemented and very enjoyable. When comparing it to movies it was a mix of the beginning of "Saving Private Ryan" and the beginning of "Enemy at the Gates". For those that haven't gotten there yet just crank up the speakers and enjoy! Is this game worth your money? Definitely!"
